This is the personal website of Roland Monsegu, author of The End of Decision and Circulez, il n’y a rien à décider. This page explains, in plain words, what personal data the site collects and what happens to it.
Who is responsible
Roland Monsegu is responsible for this site and the data it collects. You can reach me at roland [at] monsegu [dot] com.
What the site collects
The site has no comments, no accounts, no shop and no forms. It collects only the following.
- Visit statistics (Google Analytics). The site uses Google Analytics, a service of Google, to count visits and see how people find and use the page. Google Analytics only sets cookies if you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time. If you do not accept, Google still receives limited information without cookies (for example that a visit happened), which it uses to estimate visit numbers. Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, your approximate location, your device and browser, and the site that sent you here. Google processes this data and may transfer it outside the European Union. You can read how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- Server logs (Hostinger). The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like any web host, its servers record technical data about each visit, such as your IP address, browser and the time of your request. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Emails you send me. If you write to me, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply to you.
Links to other sites
The buttons and links on this site take you to Amazon and Goodreads. Once you are on those sites, their own privacy policies apply, not this one.
What I do not do
I do not sell your data, and I do not use it for advertising.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see the personal data I hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, and you can object to how it is used. To do any of this, email roland [at] monsegu [dot] com.
If you are not happy with my answer, you can complain to a data protection authority, for example the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (dataprotection.ie) or the CNIL in France (cnil.fr).
Changes
If the site changes what it collects, I will update this page and the date at the top.
